Message from the Dean of School of Engineering Computing and Design

Welcome and thank you for visiting our School website! In conformity with the Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build an educational system aligned with the market needs which have been affected by the changes brought forth by information and technology, Dar Al- Hekma (DAH) University has established the Hekma Engineering, Computing, and Design (SECD) School.

The SECD School has been structured to house three academic departments: The Engineering and Computing & Design which offer high-quality undergraduate and graduate academic and professional degrees.

As one of the growing entities at Dar Al-Hekma, SECD School has industriously started five academic programs under the department: Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity (BSCY) and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS). Bachelor of Architecture (BARCH), Bachelor of Interior Design (BID), and Bachelor of Visual Communication (BVC). The School has also set plans for offering more professional higher diplomas and master degrees in the areas of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, game development, software engineering, and data science. On the other hand, the Engineering Department is working on developing new undergraduate and graduate engineering programs to cater to the needs of the country.

When designing our programs, we took into consideration the criteria of academic accreditation boards ABET and ACM/IEEE curricula recommendations in addition to the input of the School Advisory Board of experts in the industry. Moreover, we made sure that our students are ready for the job market by preparing them to get professional certificates from well-recognized corporations such as Cisco, Microsoft, EMC and IBM, providing them with internships opportunities with different businesses, and guiding them in a one- year capstone project to apply what they have learned in real-life situations.

SECD also offers workshops and clubs covering the fields of engineering, computing, and design to all students in the University in an effort to raise awareness of the importance of the field of technology. To guarantee the quality of our programs' delivery, we hired first-class faculty who will put our students on the forefront of the 21st-century advancements in engineering and technology using modern instructional and learning models with the concentration on practical labs and interactive activities in the classroom.

Warm regards,

Tasneem Kabli, PhD

Vice Dean, School of Engineering, Computing & Design
