-Research groups are considered one of the important driving factors to alleviate scientific research in research-based institutes.

-In research groups, senior researchers transfer their knowledge to junior researchers and train them to take the path of research, hence they benefit the organization for long term more than individual work.  They also form research reference body that contribute to solving national issues, hence creating the research identity of the institute.

-This will increase the possibility of getting research grants and support form national and international research bodies. Strong research groups that have proven to undertake and produce distractive results, i.e. papers published in high ranked ISI journal, patents, etc., will have the potential to be transferred into research centers.
