Dar
Al-Hekma
University has achieved a Guinness World Records for the second consecutive
time by organizing the largest disability awareness lesson coinciding with the
International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event, held on Wednesday,
December 4, 2024, at Prince Sultan Hall on the university campus, witnessed a
large attendance of 1,177 individuals.
The
event highlighted issues concerning individuals with special needs, shedding
light on the challenges and difficulties they face on both social and personal
levels. It aimed to raise community awareness, support this segment in
overcoming obstacles, and empower them to achieve full integration into
society, enabling them to contribute effectively and with high quality.
The
university also hosted several students from various schools as part of its
mission to serve the community, raise awareness of the challenges facing this
group on both social and personal levels, and promote their effective
integration into society. The participation of these schools played a key role
in achieving the event’s goals and highlighting its importance.
Commenting
on the event, Dr. Abeer Al doghaither,
President of Dar Al-Hekma
University, said:
“Organizing
this event aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to
enhance the capabilities of individuals with disabilities and educate society
on the importance of integrating them into the labor market and improving the
services provided to them.
This
initiative, and its success in setting a world record, embodies one of the core
values of Dar Al-Hekma
University: its academic and cultural commitment to all segments of society,
including people with special needs. It underscores the importance of
developing their skills and raising awareness about their potential. Practical
experience has proven their success in contributing to society, each in their
