Hekma Lawyers Clinic

Our Alumna Muneera Al-Ezzi, a graduate of our Law department contributes to society through her "Hekma Lawyers Clinic". A social service initiative, which provides legal counsel and other services to people who need it most. It allows Law students in Dar Al Hekma to practice their skills, serving real clients, at no charge, against legal consultation while supervised by faculty and alumnae. This initiative is in line with the University's Value of the year "A University with a social mission".

The Initiative Serves:

  • Law trainees and professionals: Providers of legal consultation as an act of charity and community service
  • Law students: Recipients of supervised legal training and assistants in providing legal consultation.
  • Members of society in need: Recipients of legal consultation.
  • DAH faculty and students.

Scope of the Initiative:

The initiative will focus on three substantive areas of law:

  • Criminal law.
  • Personal status law.
  • Labor law.

Faculty Advisors:

  • Dr. Maha Ahmad will oversee the initiative, with assistance from other B-Law faculty as consulting volunteers.
  • Ms. Lina Kurdi will assist with administrative responsibilities.
