Diplomas

The English Language Diploma (ELD) at the Continuing Education Department is an intensive 9 level English language program, of 6 weeks each, taught by Dar Al-Hekma academic staff. The program is designed specifically to teach non-native speakers the fundamentals of English (grammar, reading, writing and verbal communications). The ELD is ideal for students who want to improve professionally, academically, and/or personally. The program combines best practices from the British and the American curriculum with particular focus on writing and speaking.

Throughout the programs, students are required to extensively read write, and prepare presentations. Technology is integrated in the curriculum using programs such as Quizlet, Showbie, Smart Devices, Story Creator, google docs etc.


The Professional Diploma in Business Administration equips the candidates with an essential knowledge and a set of professional skills required to successfully address the challenges of business management across various disciplines. In order to train students to conduct business in an efficient, progressive, effective, and profitable manner, a variety of intensive workshops, realistic hands-on exercises, case studies, scenarios, and assignments is offered. The program provides systematic professional guidance on how to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks, including utilizing several technological tools to increase managerial effectiveness and efficiency. It also develops the students 'awareness of potential risks that businesses face in order to enable them to confidently address those risks.

Learning Outcomes:

The successful completion of this Diploma will enhance students' knowledge and ability to:

  • understand the different management styles;
  • differentiate between Leadership and Management;
  • resolve any conflict or disagreement in business communication;
  • delegate without micromanagement;
  • create a successful marketing plan and use an effective marketing strategy;
  • identify budget categories;
  • develop an effective risk management plan.

In alignment with the mission and vision of Dar Al-Hekma University and the Continuing Education Department, the Graphic Design Diploma provides students with a high quality market-driven practical education that will enable them to fulfil the needs of the industry and the marketplace. All of the courses are created to engage students and to help them learn relevant and current industry standards and practices. Students gain practical skills in design software and basic visual communication that will provide graphic design solutions within the local marketplace. The courses provide also a flexible alternative to attaining practical skills outside the traditional college setting by offering courses during the day, at night, and on the weekend on either a full-time or a part-time basis.

Students will be able to

  • demonstrate proficiency in technical skills;
  • apply terminology used in the graphic design industry to verbal assessment skills;
  • demonstrate proficiency in communication and presentation skills;
  • produce graphic design solutions to visual communication problems;
  • uphold ethical standards as a visual communicator.

In alignment with the mission and vision of Dar Al-Hekma University and the Continuing Education Department, the Animation Diploma helps talented individuals and provides them with the latest knowledge and skills in the field of animation Students gain applicable knowledge, skills and abilities in animation software that in turn will give animation Solutions within the local market. All of the courses are tailored to engage the students and aid them in learning up-to-date and pertinent industry principles and procedures. Students will be able to proficiently fill in the gaps in the animation industry.

There is a variety of course offerings such as full-time, part-time, weekends, morning or evening sessions.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will be able to

  • practice and apply skills in animation principles;
  • formulate an understanding of the animation process;
  • demonstrate clear abilities in communication and presentation skills;
  • employ technical vocabulary used in the animation industry to state knowledge skills;
  • incorporate key principles of animation in animated sequences.

The Diploma of Fashion Design and Merchandising provides an edge in today's fashion world. During this 9-month Diploma at DAH, students will learn the skills, knowledge and techniques required to get them in the work force of the Fashion Industry, whether it is design, manufacturing, wholesale or retail areas. Students will also learn sewing, pattern making, draping, visual merchandizing, and creating a fashion collection. Fashion Illustration, fabrics, and retail are also greatly emphasized. In the final semester, students will have the opportunity to prepare a professional portfolio, and to apply for professional jobs in the Industry locally and internationally.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will be able to

  • demonstrate proficiency in principles of Fashion Design & Merchandising;
  • develop an understanding of the Fashion Design process;
  • exhibit a proficiency in technical skills in sewing, illustration, design, pattern making, textiles, and merchandising;
  • learn the terminology used in the Fashion Design & Merchandising;
  • demonstrate proficiency in collection design development and presentation skills;
  • produce Fashion Design & Visual Merchandising solutions & deal with problem solving;
  • become familiar with the Fashion Industry & Merchandising demands;
  • prepare a professional Portfolio to prepare you for the work force.
