I am addressing you all during times of unprecedented uncertainty caused by a pandemic that will forever mark our lives, but one thing I am certain of is that Dar Al-Hekma has always been and will always remain true to its values, its mission, and its higher purpose. We will continue to overcome all challenges that may come our way, and will continue to offer our students a unique educational experience; one that is steadfastly supported by educational distinction complemented with a rich variety of curricular and extracurricular programs and activities.
I would first like to pay tribute to the outstanding achievements of our great leader, Dr. Suhair Al Qurashi, who took the institution, during her 15 -year tenure, on an exceptional journey of transformation; Dr. Al Qurashi has been the main reason for changing the status of DAH from a college to a prestigious university and for obtaining full unconditional accreditation for two times in a row from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment/Education and Training Evaluation Commission (NCAAA/ETEC) which is an ongoing undertaking that the University will diligently pursue.
I would also like to take the opportunity to salute and acknowledge the outstanding efforts of our unknown soldiers, the faculty members, who tirelessly and diligently sailed the ship to a safe harbour throughout the lockdown and up till now. Non the least, the perseverance and resilience of our students, who though deprived of being on campus to enjoy interacting with classmates, seeing friends, and undertaking other extracurricular activities, bravely overrode the high tides and remarkably made it to the end.
Assuming my job as the new president of Dar Al-Hekma, I take on a responsibility that might seem heavy on my shoulders yet dear to heart, and though I know that the path ahead might be strenuous, I feel extremely honored, and enthusiastic about the opportunities that lie ahead. I am taking over an institution that has been, since its inception, and will always remain a beacon of change in Saudi Arabia.
I am proud of what Dar Al-Hekma achieved in the last 20 years educating bright young women, equipping them with knowledge, arming them with confidence, and building their characters to transform their world. Our strategic planning, excellent academic programs, outstanding faculty, and multi-dimensional student development activities have always been reflected in the much-celebrated successes of our qualified graduates and alumnae beyond the University locally and internationally.
Together, with our consolidated efforts, we can change lives, transform perspectives, develop our society, and prepare a brighter future for generations to come by graduating "accomplished women, leaders, and entrepreneurs."
